Our platform enables people with chronic illnesses to freely express themselves in a safe, understanding environment where their voices and experiences are valued.

Born from personal experiences with chronic illness, we take our responsibility seriously in maintaining a platform free from negativity and abuse.

Safety:
Alivio is committed to being a safe haven. We remove content that could harm our community members, whether physically or emotionally.

Privacy:
We may collect personal information from users when they register on our forum, participate in discussions, or interact with our services. This information may include but is not limited to: names, email addresses and any health-related information users choose to share. Please refer to our Privacy Statement below for more information.

Dignity:

– Respect anonymity preferences
– Never share personal medical information of others
– Ask permission before sharing someone’s story

Prohibited Content:
– Medical diagnosis or treatment advice of others

Group Creation & Management Guidelines

Creating & Managing Communities:

Admin Responsibilities
– Admins must represent themselves authentically
– Act as community leaders and caretakers
– Promote safety and well-being of community members
– Actively moderate content to ensure compliance
– Review and approve content thoughtfully

Group Creation Rules
– Groups must align with Alivio’s Community Standards
– Purpose must be clearly stated and maintained
– Original content must be properly attributed
– Group names must be appropriate and free of profanity
– Group purposes cannot be significantly altered after creation

Direct Messaging & Virtual Meetings:

Direct Message Guidelines
– Respect boundaries and energy levels
– Honor preferred contact times listed in profiles
– No unsolicited medical advice or product promotion
– Report inappropriate messages immediately
– Use status indicators to show availability

Virtual Meeting Safety
– Zoom meetings must be registered through platform
– Clearly state meeting purpose and duration
– Use waiting rooms for security
– Record meetings only with explicit permission
– Respect “spoon-friendly” meeting lengths

Account Suspension & Termination Policy:

Compliance Requirements
– All members must follow Alivio’s User Agreement and Community Guidelines
– Compliance with individual group rules is mandatory
– Features and benefits access is tied to good standing
– Violations may affect participation across all platform areas

Violation Consequences:

Temporary Restrictions
– Limited access to specific features
– Temporary suspension from groups
– Restricted posting/commenting abilities
– Reduced direct messaging capabilities

Permanent Measures
– Account termination
– Loss of all platform privileges
– Removal from community groups
– Loss of hosting/admin privileges

Impact on Benefits
Members facing suspension or termination may lose:
– Group administration rights
– Content creation privileges
– Direct messaging access
– Virtual meeting hosting abilities
– Forum participation rights

Appeal Process
1. Submit formal appeal within 14 days
2. Provide context and corrective actions
3. Demonstrate understanding of violations
4. Wait for review (typically 48-72 hours)
5. Accept final decision

Reinstatement Requirements

– Sign updated user agreement
